Sure can't afford it. Sure wish I could. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969...ewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item4ceca587a5
Funny.....I hardly ever take the wheels into consideration. Unless I love 'em. The car is the thing that talks to me. I figure I can always get the wheels I want. Younger people now days are wheel crazy and I'm not. Give me the stockers that came with the car or I can look around for what I want....IN THE STOCK SIZE. No bling for me, thank you.
Amen to that, Mike! I actually don't think much about wheels either unless I really like them OR really dislike them. Now, if those chrome 5 spokes were a set of 15"s, they would totally finish off the look of that already killer sweet ride.
that is nice but the add specifically states its got a pistol grip shifter. the pics say otherwise. and i dont like the wheels. too big. now drop em down to 15s and it would be perfect. even 16s wouldn't be bad.
What a gorgeous, powerful and fun wagon that would be to own. Way too rich for my blood. It looks like he did a great job except for those ridiculous wheels. That'd be the first, (and from the look of it, probably the only), thing I'd do, would be to get the factory mags for the Super Bee and throw them on there. It'd give it, imho, so much of a better look. Each to his own, I guess.
Yeah, snoot....that's big bucks, alright. I get irritated by the prices some of these guys come up with that are trying to sell their car on eBay or other places. Especially when they are doctored junk. But, to build stuff and to build a car right, especially a heavier wagon, it takes a ton of money. I have always just built my car for me and never even thought about resale in the process. I just build it for the way I want to drive it and I build them to stay together with torque, speed, comfort and, hopefully, good looks. To attain all that is expensive even if you do it with good sense and I can do them cheap by knowing what works and what doesn't. By the time I completely finish my new wagon I'll bet I'll have a MINIMUM of $15,000 in it and this wagon doesn't even need paint or wheels at this time. But, it will be what I want...MY car....and it will fit me like I'm wearing it and respond perfectly when I call on it . Now, when you look at a wagon like this Coronet...that car was done completely from the ground up. Although it's not body off it's done well. Just think of the cost of a STOCK, totally rust free 69 Coronet wagon and then START from there. If they built that 440, six pack the money in just that was huge. Then the tranny, interior, paint work etc, etc. I'm not saying that they have $40K in the car but the money they do have in it is way up there. My point is...I can't afford to spend that kind of money on cars anymore. But if you want what you want and this Coronet happened to be it AND you had the money.......well....you could either start from scratch or start dealing with these people. I have never found a built car that was built perfectly to my liking but, if I had, back when I had the money, I just may have dealt and bought it. But then.....I think of all the fun I would miss building it the way I want. All depends on your wallet and your desires, I guess.
