my vessel will (sometimes??) not start in park, in neutral it allways start. can you tell me where to find this park start switch?(is it repaireble?) (got a 727 torqueflite trans)
I'm just guessing here but assuming that it's a column shift it should be at the bottom of the steering column, inside on the steering column. It could possibly be at the tranny linkage but doubtful as it would be exposed to the weather. You may have to remove the column covers near the steering wheel and just take a look around up there as it could be near the top and actuated up there at the actual shifter. Just poke around with a bright flashlight and you'll spot it.
If your vessel is your T&C, it is on the tranny. Looks like a 6 sided nut with wires plugging onto it. Has a plunger inside which has probably worn off. Probably needs replacing or tightening.
Maybe, maybe not related but I had a brand new 70 Duster 340 that I had to hold the shifter up while I cranked the engine. It was a simple adjustment in the column but it was under warrenty so I didn't do it myself.
