Blackie....I know stroker is pretty busy. I'm wondering if you have access to a book that could tell you where the Program Connector is? I feel that you are right in its location but I'm not positive. If you had a book it may not tell you where it is on a wagon but it, at least, may show a pic of it.

    Blackfoot,
AZlldata says the harness is clipped to the Rear Header Harness, on RH "D" Pillar. On a wagon, it appears that it should not be a two wire plug, but a single plug with a white wire, or white with a black tracer...only the sedans have a 2 wire plugin. The transciever should be on top of the LR wheelhouse on a wagon. The white wire should be jumped to ground in order to activate the relearn, the locks will cycle once to let you know it's going into reprogram mode

Well guess what just happened, it works now.

Well here is the story anyway. 2 weeks ago, a kid named Matt came out and bought my 98 Monte Carlo, that night we went to town and that was the day the Keyless Entry stopped working. Today, he finally came top tow the car home and the battery was dead, so I jumped in the Blue 92 and started it up, put it in reverse and the doors auto locked!?!?!?!??? I looked at him and said he was cursed. Explained that happened the last time he was here the Keyless stopped working and the day he comes back it started working again. Weird, I told him jokingly not to come back, lol.

It all works as it should now, through the keychain fob and through the auto lock when pulled out of park.

Thanks to Silver for contacting Stroker for me and thank you Stroker for all your help and research. Looks like it was something funky going on in the system somewhere, or Old Blue either upset or happy that the Monte was sold.

Eric, Can't view the pics unless you have a membership. I belong to way too many forums already. So if you could post them up here, it would be alot more helpful to our members.
    Thanks.

    i programmed a remote today ..

give the LEFT (Driver's side) rear panel a good "YANK" towards the right side of the car and it should pop free. it doesnt need removed, just pulled away a little, the wire is easy to find and grab. as you can see in the pic, my wire was right there.

i used a double gator test clip to ground the wire to the spring on the gate support cable. then the locks cycled telling me it was in program mode.

i pushed the button on my old remote and the locks cycled. pushed the button on my new remote and they cycled again.

unhook the wire and repop the panel and you are done!
it takes maybe 2-3 minutes total unless you find a cool dead varmit behind the panel ... then you gotta sneak a spatula out of the kitchen and then back in again..... you know how it is.

BTW.. before unhooking the wire you can take either remote and "un-do" the automatic locks as decribed in the previous posts from the gm manual.

    rotsa ruk!
