I like it. Styling wise I much prefer this generation over the ones that came before and after.
I've actually looked a t few of these over the past few years. I suspect if the right deal came along I would be a Thunderbird owner.

The 87s do look good don't they ? Attended Fords at Carlisle summer of 2011 or so and they had a group of 87 Turbo coupes. Would take one of them over a Buick GN anyday.

I will guarantee you there is nothing from Packey Webb Ford running around from 1987 that’s this good.

I agree it was a decent buy, I just never warmed up to the 87/88 styling. I prefer the looks of 85/86 cars.

I would say that being an automatic held it back a little. I know they are no powerhouse, and they're not a porshe. But zipping around and rowing the gears with the sound of a small block V8 sure would be more appealing.

Manual trans was only available on the Turbo Coupe. A swap would be relatively easy to accomplish, but whoever bought this won't be driving it anyway so the point is moot.

I didn't realize that. I would definitely be looking for a manual transmission to swap in if I had one. Maybe someday I'll have to build a fun 80's V8 5 speed T-bird.

I did like my Manual Trans 85 Turbo Coupe before the tree ran out in front of it!
