Would love to see one of these Greenbrier, or Concours wagons, even rough, in stock bones. Don’t know why they all get bumpy hoods and SS badges. Guess the dream of an SS wagon run pretty deep.

The console and buckets confirm it. The proper 400's even in there. So, that's that much less to do, later on

I'd want to see the factory order\broadcast sheet before making judgments about it being factory. I doubt it matters to most folks though, the dream of the SS wagon is pretty strong for most folks. No headrests on the buckets is annoying though, one more thing to have to track down.

I do wonder why he isn't throwing in the tilt column with the sale. At $16k for the car, what's another $375-450?

Those bucket seats may have come from the factory, but probably not in that wagon!

While the console looks like it might be correct for a '70 Malibu, I'm not so sure about the bucket seats. They look a little too square-ish in the backrest to me.

You've got a point, there. The originals had to be more of an Astro type. Those there look like genuine leather. But from who knows what

Don’t even think it was a Chevrolet factory. The ‘70 seat pattern had pleats with a good size headrest. The piping is also incorrect. The console look’s factory ish, but not so sure if that’s what came with that car. With the lower trim level in general, I’d say not. Agreed I’d want to check the build sheet to verify.

The only things that'll be listed on the build sheet are column shifter and bench seat. This wagon looks Frankensteined, in this respect

The sale text didn't state that the console and bucket seats were original to the wagon, only that they were 'factory'. I've never seen ANY '68 - '72 Chevelle wagon with bucket seats from the factory. Certainly not mentioned in any brochure as optional for the wagon.

Yeah agreed the Strato buckets were only shown In association with the SS as an option. And again these have no resemblance to the ones in this car. 2C90CFAB-6350-45DD-A3D0-8CB7DFD6836E.jpeg

I've had several 70 Chevelle's, mostly SS's and always looked at them in any version. I've also not seen a factory installed console. There were some unique things done at the factory in those days to appease a high end dealer or client so it's possible. Still, having a factory console installed whether that was done by the factory, dealer or seller, is still neat in my opinion. I'd do that if it were me.
