21F3123C-D976-4594-A3FC-FB7500781CD5.jpeg Finally had the oversized black rims removed and replaced with 15 x 7 GM road wheels, nice rubber, and 1976 Malibu Classic wheel covers. Now it’s looking more like it should. This also leaves the option to remove the wheel covers and add trim rings and center caps for an era- correct rally wheel appearance, though I’m pretty set on this current look. The ride was amazingly comfortable even with the oversized rims, low profile tires, and spacers,
but it’s even better now, and I’ve eliminated the spacers, which feels safer.

Thank you Wagonrodder! Before I found the Malibu I was pursuing a decent 1969 Montego wagon in Vermont but we couldn’t agree on price.

I have always been a fan of 5 spoke wheels. I still have a set on my wagon. But I do love hubcaps and I have to say I seem to be coming full circle on them. I loved them when I was a kid, then as a young adult I grew to love custom/aftermarket wheels more.
Now that I'm older I have gravitated back towards the factory wheel and hubcaps look. Funny.
I think your car looked great with the 5 spokes and I think it looks great with the factory hubcaps. At the end of the day, it's your car and whatever makes you happy is what should be on there!
Happy that you got it looking the way you want :thumbs2:

Thanks OrthmannJ, yes, I like the Chevy rally wheel look and always assumed I’d go with that on a classic Chevy wagon, but I’m really enjoying the wheel covers. And I could easily switch to the rally look using the same underlying rims if I wanted to.
