He describes it as a reliable driver, but it is an utter mess cosmetically. The dashboard top is so cracked it's almost frightening. It may be a rust-free Colorado car, but it has spent much of its life outdoors in the harsh sunshine.
That's a workhorse car from 25-30 years ago that somehow managed to survive to this day. You used to see cars like this ALL the time in West Texas growing up that were 15-20 years old and just as baked, yet they ran great. Someone obviously decided to keep this car alive rather than getting something bigger and it's missed any accidents or mechanical failures that would have fated it to the boneyard as well. It definitely has all of the typical desert\dry car problems - cracked plastics everywhere, seat belt retractors failed, door locks failed, etc. At the current price ($2125) it'd be a good buy for someone who wants an older car to drive around and not worry about dings or cosmetic problems, if it gets too higher in price it'll be hard to justify. At least it's complete and doesn't look like someone monkeyed around with it much - which makes me wonder if it was a low mileage garage-kept car until the last decade or so...
It is restorable if this happens to be “the car” you’ve been looking for. Since it is basically rust free and the door panels are nice, the hardest part would be finding a clean dashboard. Or, it’s a good parts car to someone who has a really clean low option example and would like to add all of the power equipment.
