I think it's visual, but hey, if you can wear your Stetson while driving, you're miles ahead.

Definitely different. Looks like the '63 brochure one has a stock passenger-car windshield. Dan's is NOT a stock windshield. Look at the comparison between the 'point' on the vent window and the corner of the windshield.

Flexible started this in 1961. It is a stock windshield but tilted forward, you gain about 2 inches in height. The top of the fenders has an added extension to meet up with the cowl since the bottom of the windshield moves. It is a clever way to gain height but using the stock windshield, Flxible is the only one to do this and it gives you a nice transition at the front of roof. Unless you know, it is hard to see the modifications.

Sweet! My very first long roof was a hearse back in high school. I am envious. Nice find.

So trip to the DMV was not bad, had 1200 in back fees , got that dropped to 600 :( . That brings the registration current and title in my name keeping the original plates.

I dought $1200 in back fees gave him a good feeling, that BS. Did you know about the fees before you purchased it or did you get hosed? If not then I would talk to the previous owner...

I knew what it had and in the past a few times I had gotten out of all or most of the fees. Just depends on who get it at the DMV. I just took a gamble on it Not great but better than $1200.

Well, at least you knew. It still doesn't make it right to charge a new owner for someone else's bill, that would be like going to a restaurant and paying for the previous customer's food because they left without paying.

So what is the driveline on a rig like this, it's definitely a rare bird and has great lines. Did you get any pictures from the front?

Dan's thinking of going into the 'Vintage Funeral Business'.........

And Dan, you must be supporting the Victorville DMV operating expenses all by yourself!

Wow, that is quite a collection. You have some pretty interesting cars and they all appear to be in great condition.
