That is an awful lot of money for that car. I always kind of liked these, but they really were underpowered and you had to like white. That trunk lid lip makes me sad.
I think who the seller is had a lot to do with the selling price, that car was owned by Ken Lingenfelter of Lingenfelter Performance. All his cars are very very nice. I have seen this car in person a few times when they had open houses in his collection. Very nice car, that being said I think it sold for about 2 times its actual worth.
