Well I may have changed my mind on the 67 ranch wagon. There is a 07 Magnum R/t with 44k miles for 15995. It is a blue grey color. I am going to call them tommorow and see if we are on the same page as far as making a deal. I have an 09 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara that I will be trying to trade in on the Magnum. I need a certain amount on the Wrangler inorder to make the deal work.

Anyway, what do yall think of the magnum?

The Magnum is one of very few modern cars that a really like, and its big enough to fit my definition of what a wagon should be.

Haven't driven an R/T, but drove a 3.5 SXT and a 2.7 (base) before buying my Mazda. Wasn't crazy about either. Biggest complaint was suspension- wasn't firm, just stiff and not much on feedback. I want to feel what the car is doing through the suspension and through steering wheel feedback.

The irony is I bought my Mazda to then change everything but the bushings on the suspension.....

The other thing I would look very closely at is material quality and construction of the interior.

Nah, nothing scared me off. I Have a 09 jeep wrangler i have to get rid of first and can trade it rather than worrying about selling it. Also Im not sure im up to the hassle of a 40 year old car right now. The 67 is still an option, just trying to make sure im gonna like it for the long haul.

Go for it. I have my Magnum since May 15, 2004. Loving it more every time I drive it. It's a 2005 Inferno Red Magnum RT.

    It's my over-sized sports car.

    Is the R/T a 5.7 or 6.1?
Some guy who lives not far from where I work has a 6.1 SRT-8. A very unusual sort of car in the UK, he put his foot to the floor to overtake another car recently, didn't realise the grunt the 6.1 has and very nearly lost control as he shot up the rear end of another car.
It's a shame such a wonderful car is being driven by someone who doesn't seem to appreciate it or know what it can do apart from making a great noise.
    What a dork.

Hard to tell, is the magnum a wagon or an ovrsized car ? Id steer clear of anything new thats mopar. Other then going bankrupt they are on thin ice right now. They got bought by the Germans of Mercedes- Benz who not even 10 years into mopar took a bath on what they paid for the company and offed them to the fiat comapny who right now has buyers remorse. Fiat is seeing just how many problems Mopar has.

Wouldnt surprize me if in a few years they disappear as a company

I suppose you could say that about many of the newer wagons. Is it just a 4 door hatchback? My determining factor... Can you sleep in it comfortably?

    ^lol, I agree

Anyway, I like thos magnums... I'd buy it. Also, if you are only going to have 1 car, and the coice is a 67 or an 07, the 07 wins hands down for a multitude of reasons. #1 on MY list is that the 67 deserves retirement...

i dont blame you for unloading your wrangler. what was done to the jeep icon is nothing short of criminal. coil springs back in 1997 were a logical step forward, as they allowed for better axle articulation than the leafs did. not to mention a better ride. but the new ones are not as simple as they used to be. carpet is harder to take out. the interior is too car like... and cmon.....power windows and nav in a wrangler? ITS NOT A HUMMER! too many cooks spoiled the broth. i was hoping they(cerberus) would sell it to mahindra cause i know mahindra would return it to its roots!
    ok....rant off

the simplicity of the ranch wagon may be appealing. the magnum would be better suited for the daily commute. however, if the climate in your area permits. follow your heart.
