Really like this one! Might consider pursuing. Anyone have anything to say about this car before I think about it seriously?

 

Only to say that the seller is a dealer. The plus side of this is that the car likely has been gone through mechanically and should be quite roadworthy right off the bat. The downside is that the price is marked up from what a private seller might ask.

1989 is rather late for the Old Cars Price Guide to carry a value, and they go that late only rarely. The last time they featured 1989 cars was May/June 2017, four years ago. At that time, they valued an '89 Colony Park LS in showroom condition at about $5,000. This seller wants three times that.

The last time Old Cars had an issue go as late as a year close to this was May/June 2020, about a year ago, when they listed the value of a 1988 Colony Park LS in showroom condition at about $4200.


The J.D Powers/NADA website shows a maximum value for this car of about $6,700. That's a bit more than Old Cars, but in the same ballpark. No one is saying this is worth five figures, let alone nearly $14k.

In the end, it's only money. If you buy the car and get enjoyment out of it, you'll quickly forget how much you paid for it.

84 Colony Park LS with 41k miles looking brand new sold on BaT last month for $11k. Maybe the dealer will negotiate some.
