This guy did an almost PRO job with his wife and daughter building this.

I, on the other hand don't have the kind of money he spent on (4 foot LED lites, , more fans than a turtle-watching club, and some neat lite stands)

And then he does a nice set of flics on his paint work:

    417 FOX - YouTube

I'll post a few pics of my humble version tomorrow with details on materials.

    But. My justifications are:

Total cost for a higrade Basecoat/Clear paint job is about $5,000 to $15,000. (Door jambs, trunk and hood both sides), etc.

The booth with cost me under $1,000. That's Canadian dollars.

    Paint and materials around $400.

I have air tools, welder, super quality Cyclo polisher, compressor, and just enough knowledge and experience to to at least a $5,000 job, maybe better.

What really sparked ne to DIY it, was the private, pro body/paint man who told me how he'd do the removable nose on my 1982 Cougar LS. It suffers from stone and gravel chipping. He wouldn't remove it. I will.

Probably my last car (going to the SWMBO 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' once done), after I re-paint my Fairmont Squire.

The guy does pro patching and welding. but I think I'm either too picky or he's good with a good-enough job.

The Cougar is too nice for a lipstick job. (pics will be posted)

The 417Fox guys booth is really well done, and he got great results, I recommend it.

Just busier than a one-armed paper hanger!:)

House renos, on-the-fly resto of a nice 1982 Cougar LS sedan and building a demountable paint booth on my small yard. And new gardens around the house. That's all. Most was on the HONEY-DO list.:rofl2:

Well, welcome back! Hey, was it you that I had sold that Premium Sound on-off switch to? If so, did I sell the amplifier to you also? I honestly can't remember, and if I hadn't, it's because I could not find it. If I had, I have no memory of doing so.

Just signed up with guest version of the Flickr site, so I'll be taking some pics in the cool of the morning, and posting them. I'm sure you'll give me some good feedback Steve.
