I have not seen one of these on the road in along time. Don't car for the red stripe with the blue interior. I never drove one of these that were US Made. I was told they drove worse than the French Built versions that I did drive a few times as rentals in Europe. Really did not care for them!

But this one looks pretty good considering its age and almost 100,000 miles. Seller is asking $5200

Much like the K-cars of the era, if you put a bag of groceries in the back seat the rear suspension drops 5".

I believe you are correct about it being MT car of the year once.

And the High heels would be pushing it!

Thanks for posting the “list” cammerjeff. Needed a good laugh to start off the day. Do you think in 1975 anyone circled back with those writers - Vega huh? Still sure? My favorite memories of a Citation are when NBC hurled one into the side of a side saddle tank Chevy truck before they blew it up. The pickup truck that is. My other fond memory of a Citation is when my 1985 Citation II Company Car, or as I called it the Citation also, took up smoking while I was in the car wash. Actually it was the carpet that started to curl and singe. Apparently the catalytic converter decided to clog. Looking under the clean car when I got out the converter was doing a lovely impersonation of the sun. With 15,000 miles on the car my local Chevy dealer politely told me to get lost on any warranty consideration.

That was an outright lie on the dealer's part. The Congress in '73, when they enacted the next round of clean air laws, knew that converters were a trouble spot and mandated a 50K warranty on them. If I had been in your shoes, I would've called the EPA, the Consumer Protection Agency, and any other agency at that time who would listen.

Well I agree with your point. I guess if it had been my car I would have perhaps fought a little harder. If I remember correctly the dealer did replace the red carpet and I think gave the company a break on the work. I think the dealer was jerky cause the car didn’t come from them. I did have an ‘83 Impala loaner, which was a somewhat nicer drive than the II.

Dealers are not supposed to base warranty work on whether the car was bought from them or not. GM had disenfranchised dealerships for doing that. It really irks me these dealerships pull that crap. Even if it was 45 years ago.

Dealers are still trying to pull this type of stuff, especially my 3 local Dodge dealers...

Yup. Friends of mine had a 2010 F150 with the 3-valve 5.4, and bought it in Seattle (they live 20 miles North); they maintained it at the local Everett Ford dealer, a looooong-time established dealer that did have a great rep--until the engine went bad right after the last oil change. My opinion--the can phaser defect was not the dealership's fault. But it went bad in their care, because it ran well before the service, and when they went to pick it up, hard start, poor idle and a CEL with a laundry list of faults
