This has to be the oddest rampage event I've ever read about. Usually, planning a rampage of this kind has political motives. Carrying out a sophisticated act of this kind on purely random victims is unusual. That's why, especially during such freak events, it's utterly important that the police avoid shoot-to-kill tactics, in order to get answers. Destroying the shooter also destroyed plenty of history and forensic evidence which in no way pays justice to the victims and their families
The Texas Tower murderer or 1966 was reported to have had a brain tumor found at autopsy. He also was reported to have had violent impulses the months before the rampage and sought help.
Our thoughts are with your country Fannie. It just makes you wonder with all of the other anxieties we are living through how much can society take without busting at the seems. With the Great Depression and various world wars, as well as the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918-19 our ancestors certainly lived through trying times as well. Sacrifice is certainly nothing new. It seems though culturally we were more unified in our response, and there was more of a concerted effort to work through the issue at hand rather than blaming and shaming individuals and groups that we disagree with. Hopefully we will be back to whatever normal will look like. Stay safe and with any luck we’ll be back in our old cars soon.
There was a 2 minute of silence for Constable Stevenson today. In an effort of unity we were asked to wear today and stand silent at 2:00. We decided to go to the ramp (5 mins from home) where she was killed to pay our respects. About 40 other people did the same thing, we all respected the 6' distance due to Covid. It was so quiet. The traffic stopped, all that could be heard was the plastic on the flowers blowing and the radio from the RCMP constable what stood near by. The tunes from his radio marked the start of the 2 minutes of silence. Then came three pages calling for Constable Stevenson to copy...with no reply her number was signed off for the last time. I/we lost it
My condolences to you and your entire country, Jenn.... Your memorial seems eerily similar to a memorial I passed by the other day, that was also occurring at a place a Eugene, OR officer was murdered, seven years ago. https://kval.com/news/local/eugene-...go-sunday-remembering-officer-chris-kilcullen
