When I bought my Colony Park I found out the rear benches in the cargo-room were stored underneath the cargo floor. I tried to figure out how to mount them but I think I am missing some hardware.

In the pictures below you'll see the seats and the cargo-room. The seat-backs are easy; just remove the current 'deck-lids' and replace them for the deck-lids with the seatbacks attached to them. The lower seatparts (where you sit on) are more of a challenge for me.

Can someone tell me (if possible with pictures or schematics) how I have to mount them? Am I missing some parts?

    Boy, that's clean!

    What year is your wagon?

I've never seen one at the fastener end, but if the seat is bolted to the floor, then the swivels/braces attach to the seat brackets and the seatbacks to the brackets. Look under the car for welded nut reinforcements. The bolts you use are self-tapping into those, just like the front seat system.

    OK, it's a 1978.

    Page 41-20-3 and 41-20-4.

The seats bottoms attach into the side brackets that bolt/screw into the seat well.

Ok, I've been searching for weeks now but I can't seem to find somebody who can help me with the missing brackets

I would really like to mount the rear bench seats but can't find someone who has a donor-car or something. The brackets should be the same for the Colony Park and the Country Squire.

Isn't there any junkyard in the USA who has several of these cars and whom I could contact (and are willing to ship)? I always thought these stations where widely-sold family cars and there should be enough left. Maybe because they don't get the 'collector' status? Too bad it proves to be so difficult to find parts here in the NL and to have so little contacts in the US :banghead3:

Try here. Largebarge72 lives near there, and makes the odd run to their yards. PM him, after you find out if they have any. Check out all their sites (3 of them).

Thanks Stormin' Norman, I've just filled out a parts-request form for the parts needed. I couldn't see if they have a 78 Colony Park on their sites, but I hope they can help me locate the parts.

Is Largebarge72 a member on this site?

He sure is! He posted the original pictures of some of their rust-free cars, and I fell on the site by accident.

Hey, were you able to get the third row installed yet? From the looks of your first pic, it appears you already have the brackets and just need the right size bolts.

I had the third row out of my '72 Colony Park this weekend while working on the floor board. If it helps, I can get you some close-up pics of everything.

Hi Chris! I still haven't managed to get the right brackets so the third seats aren't installed yet

In the pictures you can see I have some of the brackets installed on the seats themselves, but I am missing the brackets on the side of the car in which the seats are mounted. I've contacted the previous owner who imported the Mercury to the Netherlands and he thought he had the brackets with the car. He is however in Spain untill December so it looks like I have to wait. Fordwagonnut1979 is looking for me at a wrecking yard and I have just received a PM that he did find the airfoil but no brackets (yet).

If you could post some detailed pictures of all mounting points and hardware of the third seats I would really appreciate it !
