Good evening all... My name is Vincent or Vinny to most that know me know and I live in the small prairie town of Foam Lake, Sk Canada. I am originally from Canada's most easterly province of Newfoundland/Labrador and raised in the town of Brigus, Conception Bay. I was a GM tech who worked for GM of Canada for 18 years starting in '88 and then decided to venture on my own and open my own shop. I was mainly the drivability/electrical guy but worked on all areas of the car depending on the job and what day it was. (lucky enough to do all jobs and not just the one typical) My first car and still have to this day is a '67 Pontiac Parisienne 2+2 'Vert, of which there were only 1434 produced, that I have had since '82, I was just 15. Originally a Sierra Fawn/black top, the 1 stipulation of my Dad, it had to be painted turquoise/white top in memory of his '58 Bel-Air. A wagon story on that one in the future as well. This one had the 275hp, 327ci and a 'glide. Since the powertrain was long gone, I converted that one to a 350 TBI EFI and a Muncie 4-gear in '95. Yes, it took me 13 years to finally drive Her! The paint remains to this day. Christine is the name I promptly gave to her, yes, because of the movie Christine and for the life I gave in order to resurrect her once more. She was in serious stage 4 rust decay! Me behind the wheel, brother along for the ride.... Circa '83 Since I am a Canadian Centennial Baby, 1967, my Dad opted to find a car that was of the model year as myself and he would find much joy in announcing that the car and I were of the same year to whom ever asked. That is how my love for Pontiacs became to be.. My quest for wagons never bloomed till much later till I found my first, '67 Grande Parisiene Safari in about 2002... It has taken a much more developed path since then but I still have the Grande Wagon waiting to be completed... That particular car has been displayed here on another thread but I will post it again with a little story later in another post. Enough for now, thanks again for the add...
Hey Vinny, welcome. Nice to see someone else from this neck of the woods. I'm in Saskatoon. Looking forward to more stories of your rides. Have fun on here. Ken.
Thanks Ken... You and I have a mutual friend as well... Ken M. from Pike Lake! I bought his '70 Safari a few years back and I will add that one to the list here as well when I get the time!
Ah-ha, yes we do, as a matter of fact I have to get out to his place with a grocery list, maybe too late now and have to wait until spring. Small world.
Welcome aboard Vinny! Sounds like you have many wonderful stories to tell. I'm looking forward to them. Nice looking convertible as well.
Thanks for the welcomes... the 'vert isn't near perfect nor ever will be... just glad that it has survived to spend the last 3+ decades with me. I get to posting my wagons soon but her is a group shot of some of the cars I own. Canadian Pontiacs with the exception of a Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec built Catalina 4-dr h/top. (350 American) L-R: '67 2+2 Vert, '67 2+2 Coupe, '67 Grande Wagon, '67 Grande Coupe, '67 Laurentian Wagon, '70 Parisienne 2-dr Coupe, '70 Safari Estate, '66 Laurentian Safari 9-seat, '66 Strato Chief 4-dr Sedan.
Welcome to the group. It seems that I've been through Foam lake numerous times while traveling the Yellowhead usually while heading back home from Cold Lake.
