    My point is as nice and rust free the body is. The engine compartment doesn’t look like the rest of the car.

    Well, I still think a 16K mile engine compartment should not look as bad as it does on the skylark; I still think the odometer rolled. Now, having said that, the car is otherwise looking in great condition for its age.

    Your ‘71 Electra is stunning. Keep the hood down at shows if that’s your choice, but that is one beautiful car. Isn’t it cool to still find that kind of stuff?

    Electras and Electra 225s fascinate me. That '72 Skylark is beautiful, in spite of the debate about the mileage and condition of certain areas. A friend of mine years ago lived with a guy who had a gold Skylark 4 door pillarless, with a black vinyl top. Years later, I ran into the Buick guy, but didn't ask him where the car went. Another guy down here had a blue '66 Cutlass 4dr hardtop for sale, had an ugly custom steering wheel in it.
