Hey ran across your forum this morning and thought it could be useful to me. I have a 1964 Galaxie Country Sedan named BETTY. I have had her for almost 2 years and now finally get to start on customizing her. First I wanted to get out all the bugs she had previously so this is what I have done so far: I have replaced the valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, by pass hose, heater core and hoses and sealed the gas tank. This doesn't sound like much but please note that BETTY is a daily driver so I only work on her on the weekends and when money allows. I want to: finish cleaning up the mechanics of the car then do some customizing to the body and the interior. I will try to post progress pics as I go. I hope this forum can give me ideas and give me advise when I get stuck on something. Thankx for having me on!!
Any parts off this one fit? http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5778 Welcome aboard. You're driving my Fairmont's great granny. Nice to see she's in good hands.
Thankx! Lots to do to get her where I want her, but I'm up to the job. Having a blast working on her too!
I threw some pics up in the gallery. Give me a little time I work on cars better than I work on computers!! ha ha
That looks very solid. Keep those wheels and polish 'em up. Those are period correct. Thanks for the pix.
I really want some baby moons on her. I lowered the back end 4 inches by moving the leaf spring brackets closer to the car (instead of hanging down). Eventually I want her bagged, when funds permit of course. I will try to get more recent pics of her up soon. This weekend I will be cutting out the driver's side floorboard...well what is left! ha ha try to get her ready for winter. I want to make floorboards for her myself this spring so for now it will be patch work. I have soooo many things I want to do,just no money to do them yet. Anyone have a idea on a third row seat. My car didn't come with one factory but I like the rear facing third row. Definately want to incorperate that into it..That way I don't have to strap the next kid on to the luggage rack! hahaha I was also thinking of extending the rear quarters and adding the slanted fin. I do like the double bubble on the 59 though. By the time I'm done she will be a custom for sure. Those are the true mag rims on her right now. They look good now but with paint and lowered I think the moons will shine a little brighter.
Baby moons can be nice. I had them on until I got my 18's. But then again you can get 17 inch steel wheels like taht for baby moons.
...she looks to be pretty clean! I have a 63 CountrySedan...one day i should work on it ...and....I personally dig the old slotted alum's
put up some new p ics of the 4 in drop in the rear....plus I put 2 in drop blocks on the rear yesterday and stripped the chrome off her.. she is gonna be sick!! Damn computers!!
