Ohio cars scare the hell out of me. This thing looks like it was put away in March with a winters worth of salt and dirt on it, oh and the garage was damp, and always wet.
Looks like virtually every factory option for the year to include leather, power moon roof, dual power seats and GM/Bose stereo. What a shame the condition it is in. Probably doomed for the scrap yard. We will see if it gets any bids. Underside is probably really scary.
Underside is likely not there anymore. For a person restoring another one, the interior is a treasure trove of goodies.
Now, if the underside was decent, what would worry me would be the rear frame - that's what would go out on these back in PA, IIRC. (along with the Regals, Grand Prix, etc). This car was probably a stunner when it was new. I have a soft spot for these Rivvys, and if I had a choice of the three, I'd take a Rivvy over an Eldo or a Toro. It would be neat to pick this thing up really cheap to see if you can get it running. Last sticker says '99, so it's been sedentary (or sedimentary!) for some time.
I thought I was about to buy this car in the video below in 2011 and even drafted a contract until the grandson told me he did not have a tile in his name. Ooops. It later went back up for sale at an inflated price.
You can tell from the grey blotches on the leather that this was submitted to some type of prolonged moisture, or garage sweat.
Well I would say by the way the car was photographed and offered up I would think they are going to be amenable to any type of offer. Wouldn’t you clean the windows, hose it down, maybe do a little detail to the interior if you were serious about trying to get any kind of money out of this car? Seems like they just tugged it out of its dank hiding place, and plunked it right on EBay to make room in the garage. Good luck and it’ll be interesting to see where this former beauty lands.
