It's got a new home. I just need to find a transporter to get it from Seattle to the SF Bay area. Anyone have any recommendations?
I've used DAS a bunch in the past; may not be the cheapest, but it seems always was the quickest transport time and quickest to pick up. It always helps if you go terminal to terminal and not have to deliver or pick up at anyone's house. If you are in the bay area - an outfit like DAS will prolly have a terminal, maybe in Oakland or such, where you can pick the car up. Sometimes they even have satellite locations with companies whe have large yards/towing services in secondary cities like say, Fresno or Stockton or such which again, will save you $$$ if you can pick up at the yard/terminal. The big expense comes in the door-to-door service.
Is it driveable? Cheapest way would be to fly up and drive it home. Not a very difficult drive this time of year. Lots of places along the way to stop / get parts, etc. Heck, driving down I-5, you can have a meal here at my house or even an over-night stay if you want - gratis! Eugene / Springfield, OR - 288 miles from Seattle. 509 miles from here to Mountain View.
That was my original plan. I was going to fly up with the wife & 2 kids(ages 8 & 9) and road trip back during spring break. I had found some tickets on South West for $91 each. But by the time I went back to get the tickets they were gone. I guess spring break is a popular time to travel! I have found transport and spoke to the actual driver. He's got a couple of wagons himself and an '89 Crown Vic WA state Highway patrol car. I think it'll be in good hands. Thank you all for the suggestions. This is my first on buying a car sight unseen and having it transported. I'm pretty excited about this wagon. It's really well optioned out and has the tow package too. It arrives the weekend after next.
That’s always exciting, that anticipation of when the car arrives, then all the things you think you want to do it right away. Good luck with it, and have fun thinking about it! By the looks of the windshield is that copper looking trim around it a heated windshield? Always loved that option. That looks great on Black, red, and rose colored cars.
