As I thought, only cassette tape player was factory for 1988. But the factory CD unit added looks very good. :)

I want to say that at that time, GM had an add-on CD player, but it might've been the early '90s before it debuted. If that Monte had a Porno Red interior, it'd be perfect.

Looks like a nice car. I don't know if I would want to give $16k for it just because it has low mileage though.

Not many people can pull off wearing a head band out in public, but this guy does it!

That CD player is 1990-1995ish Chevy\Olds\Pontiac minivan. The good thing is all of those DIN & a half radios interchange with each other, so the upgrade done is actually quite simple.

It's a beautiful car... but the gauge font is so late 1980s GM it hurts me to look at it again. This design was really long in the tooth by the year this car was made. It's like a late '70s chassis trying very hard to look like GM's aerodynamic econoboxes that they were coming out with at the time. The end result just isn't as attractive a car as the design from a few years prior.

I like the instrument cluster other than the 85 mph austerity speedometer. Those days are definitely not missed.

What engine did this have? The tach says yellow line's 4500, redline at 5000. The smallblock V8s all redline at 5500.

He doesn't show any engine pictures, but it should be the 305. I've never seen a stock G-Body Monte Carlo V8 with anything but.

They're asking Turbo Buick money for a 305 Monte. Good luck.

These didn't have the Buick 3.8L as an option in '88? That would explain the tach markings.

No, only the Chevy based 4.3 V6 or the Chevy 305 V8. This would make sense as the Buick engines had electrical connections, AC, fuel lines, etc on the opposite side as a Chevy based engine. This would reduce manufacturing costs by using common parts between the two engine options.

Ah, yeah, Brad, you're right, I always confuse which cars have the battery and starter on which side of the engine compartment. Drives me batty if I attempt to think about it.
