I just found this site. Looks like the right place . Going to buy a 1973 LTD wagon .Wifie wants the woodgrain fixed asap.
Sounds like a fine woodie! You're wife has good instincts. My car is from Mexico, and that heat and sun cracked and fried it.
Got any pictures? The '73 is huge! Have fun with it and good luck. Welcome aboard. It's a great site.
How about this one....... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ford...3844142QQsspagenameZRSSQ3aBQ3aSRCHQ3aUSQ3a101 or a little newer, this '77........ http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ford...7365174QQsspagenameZRSSQ3aBQ3aSRCHQ3aUSQ3a101
here is a pic. Its been raining for days so I haven't worked on it. It might have a cracked block, so all ready found donor motor .It will be a 400m with few upgrades . ( intake ,cam, dual exhaust ,and a 4bbl carb.)
All three wagons pictured thus far look pretty darned good!.. I'd be ecstatically happy with either one...
Hi again I could be wrong but I think by looking at the front end that is a 72 model. Like I said not sure but pretty sure. Let me know.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That's definitely a '72. The 71's didn't have the bumper going all the way across and the center grille had a different pattern to it. The '73's were altogether different, but your '72 is looking to be in fine shape. Actually, to be honest, I prefer the '71's and 2's over their succesors. Back in high school, I went to Moorestown NJ for a weekend to visit my buddy, Rick who was a year younger and didn't have his license yet. We headed over to his buddy's, Greg, whose parent's were out for the evening in their Cadillac. That left his sister's VW bug and their brand new '71 Squire sitting in the driveway. Neither one of them had their dl's, but Greg wanted us to go cruising in his sister's car. Eyeing the gorgeous blue Squire sitting there, (yes, I was a wagon nut even back then), I suggested they take the VW and let me take the Ford. So that's we did; I was in Heaven, let me tell you; that is until about 20 minutes later when we turned a corner and saw his parents in their DeVille stopped at a stop sign. Oops--not a good coincidence. Needless to say, there was some intense parental discipline meted out as they followed us back to the house. They were more upset about my taking their brand new wagon, even though I was the only one with a license, than they were with Rick and Greg in the Vdub. If I was Greg's Dad, I think I would've felt the same way. Hey, at least we didn't sneak over to the party they were attending and "borrow" their Caddy!!
Another great Ford. A simple upgrade that does wonders is a new intake and 4 bbl carb. Livens up that 400 great!
