Certainly not one you see every day.

It never ceases to amaze me how vehicles that used to be so prevalent become scarce and excellent looking examples become highly desirable. We certainly are nostalgic creatures. I think both of the Suburbans shown here are great looking rigs. I hope whoever purchases them enjoys them in the way they were intended.

Look around Southern California and I think you would be able to find quite a few '73 - '91 (?) Suburbans. Of course, most probably won't be in as nice a shape as these two (particularly the interiors), but most of them will still be solid.

You'd think up here in the arid climate of central Washington there would be a ton of them around, but in reality they are few and far between. I like the early versions the best. It's pretty crazy that many US manufacturers used the same basic bodies for some rigs for such a long stretch of time. The chivy truck/blazer/suburban and FORD truck/bronco come immediately to mind. They are certainly out there, but not as prevalent as one might think.

It's ironic that I said I never see these around anymore, and then days later I came across one.

Judging by the trim around the headlights and turn signals I'd say it's a 79 or newer. Just parked along the side of the road, don't know anything about it.

1980. Only year for the full surround on the marker and headlight. Others cut out around the marker light

Interesting. I thought 79 did that as well?

I don't think Suburbans with the Estate package were ever very common. A shame as they actually wear the woodgrain quite well.

Any Suburbans from this era in my area that haven't entirely crumbled into rust flakes are well on the way to it.
