Why does something like this come up when I don't have a few extra pennies burning a hole in my pocket.

You're right, he doesn't make a point of showing any rust. His exterior photos are from too far away. But I did spy some in three of the photos. In the second and third ones, I enlarged and cropped them, and there is definitely rust on the roof around the roof glass. There are dents in the left rear fender and the left end of the rear bumper as well. Were I interested in this car, I would want to take a close look at that roof rust and see if the windows have been compromised.

Overall, if the roof rust is mainly just surface rust, the car doesn't seem too bad, and it's not an outrageous price if you want to get into one of these. It does have three seats, tilt wheel, and A/C.

That was my next question. What’s the cost of replacing ceiling glass on these things? Jaunty I’m looking at you on this since you tornado has equally unique glass

Why? Do you want to go there and smash the guy's glass up for him?

The only source in either case, '77 and '78 Toronado XS or '64 to '72 Vista Cruiser and Sport Wagon, is from a parts car. No way to predict cost. I've seen the bent glass rear windows on the Toros on eaby with asking prices of $700. Not sure if they ever sold.

Remember that the bent glass Toronado XS was made for only two model years, and it was just an option. Production was miniscule compared to most anything else. Only about 5,000 Toro XS's were built over the two model years. No way anyone would reproduce ANYTHING specific to those cars decades after they went out of production. For the Vista Cruisers and Sport Wagons, production was MUCH higher over the 9 years one or both of those models were made, but still no one has ever reproduced parts for them. Just not enough demand to justify the cost of tooling.

It was mentioned, a while back, that those rectangular Toro wrap arounds go for over a grand new. I think, you were to quote, on that. So, it's at least good news to know that they're still in stock. Especially, for those who have appropriate insurance coverage

I've never said that the bent-glass Toronado windows were still available new or still in stock anywhere. The one I saw on ebay, which is still there, is obviously taken from a parts car as the photo shows the sealant around the edges. The seller doesn't actually mention where the window came from. He wants $790 for it as a BIN price, but there is a "Make Offer" button.
