Been looking for a low buck wagon myself for a long time now and even at $500 ( don't know what your seller is asking), I wouldn't even look further for rust, I'd pass unless I was looking for a parts car.

In a way I think you may be answering your own question,,, If you are asking us if it's worth it, are you questioning buying it? and if so...............

Thanks all for the feedback; it's greatly appreciated. The only reason I was looking at it is because it's local and the interior is very clean. I had assumed that the rust was minor, but it seems that those in the know (you) disagree. I'd rather spend more to pay less in the long run.

The rust is pretty difficult to judge from the pictures you provided. If the left rear quarter is the only rust then that doesn't look too bad. If there is rust elsewhere then it could get bad. Any competent body shop should be able to fix that quarter panel, but then you start getting into paying a body shop and paint and costs start adding up fast. You don't really describe what you need/want out of the car. Are you looking to restore it to showroom condition or just have a wagon to drive around in? That will probably make a difference in what you want to start out with.

At $400, I'd think it's decent for a parts car especially since it still runs. This 91 I saw doesn't run (coolant's getting in the crankcase) and it has an interior with junk in it. Most of what I could get would be the front end, both bumpers, dashboard items and front end glass but you can get all the glass from that Ford. Then again, you'd need to store it all too.

The feedback has been great. Thanks again. The ask is $750 firm and includes some parts. I didn’t think much of the rust, so I’m glad everyone pointed it out. I thought I could clean up the interior, do a little mechanical work, address the rust, slap on some new vinyl and call it a day all for a low, low price. Obviously, I’m way off. Too bad as it has an amazing ride.

Listen to me very carefully....It’s extremely imperative that you get this car before some demolition derby dip gets his hands on it. You’d be doing the station wagon community a solid. It’s under $1,000, runs and drives and stops??? As long as the engine and transmission are fine it’s a good deal. As long as your not looking to completely restore it. First lower your standards. Then Buy it. Drive it. Love it or someone else will. If you lose interest you can easily dump it for the same price you bought it for.

What Grizz said , the rust is a pain but on that part on this car is simple to fabricate it’s basically a rectangle no harsh curves, I say simple as I’ve done body work on and off for 40 years, even if you want to give it a first try the nice flat panels are very easy. Either way for a running driving stopping car with a nice interior for $750 if you like the body style or just want a run around car I’d buy it.
    My :2cents:

Well, it's a four to one vote count saying he should go out and buy it, if it's still there
