Kind of cool for what it is. Getting a little crazy with that console aren't you GM? I mean what are you going to do next, add an armrest (gasp)?

Any J body that's not a Cavalier is very rare these days. Even the Cav isn't all that common any more.

After I got my ' 86 6000 wagon, I came to appreciate its front end styling and that of the 2000/Sunbird both of which were reminiscent of the Firebird. A little touch of sportiness for the bread and butter mid-sized and the gas-saver compact cars in the Pontiac lineup and right in line with the image the marque was trying to project. Doubtless some found it pretentious.

The J body consoles -- if you could call them that -- did need some work.

Pontiac literature sure made a big deal of their OHC 4s, as though Pintos hadn't had the same configuration a full decade earlier.

Pretty unique, certainly a rare one among a quickly disappearing group of cars.

I like it. I think it would be a fun car to have and use as a DD.

I really didn't like these cars when they were new\plentiful around. They were the high school beaters we had and... many had problems and all were underpowered back then much less now. I doubt time has been kind to them on the parts locating front. If you go into it fully expecting it to nickle and dime you while having a backup car it could be a decent fun project.

Isn't interesting how, as time goes by, cars that were once so plentiful that they were almost throw aways never getting a second look become interesting and unique?
