I've been driving it around, trying to get used to it. Driving on three wheels is wierd, because it feels like it's about to tip over during cornering. Since it doesen't have a turn signal lever, I have to keep remembering to turn off the signal, when the turn is finished, otherwise I could wreck it in an accident, if a vehicle coming from the right in a circle crossing misinterprets my intentions. The hand shifter sucks, because it draws my attention. But, that woulkd be quite a project, converting it over to a hydraulic foot shifter. Hooking up a buzzer to each turn signal circuit would remind me that I have to turn the swich off.
I had someone from a 3-wheeler forum come out here to check it out. He says, the clutch is stiffer, since it's a racing clutch. That's reason enough, for replacing the frayed clutch cable which is in there. The rear drivetrain mounts are also coming unglued and will be replaced soon. They're easy to do.
Since bolting everything up, I removed all unoriginal lighting and am looking for headlight units which accomodate halogen highbeam. The ones which I have only put out 15 watts each which is a bad joke.
I shed even more ballast, by selling my plastic interior trim. Without it, the cabin looks more nostalgic. I even incorporated a bus speedo which I found in a wrecked bus. To be on the safe side, I built in the original speedometer, as not to distort the calibration, through removing the needle for attaching a VDO face onto it. If I get my hands on a black speedo unit from a Vespa or other Italian make, I'll go back and do it right.
I found 3 cans of foam used on construction sites for gluing on styropore plates and opened each one up, to build up the speedo housing. It used to be attached to the handle bar. But, that's dumb, when it can be mounted stationary. I emptied the unit of all guages, because the vehicle it's going into only has warning lights. The air pressure guage for the bus's suspension was especially heavy. I sawed off excessive metal and then packed the speedo in a small plastic bag, so that the foam wouldn't stick to it. I had to hold it in place, during the first 40 minutes of building up. I followed with 2 more sessions. But, need a 4th can to finish the form. This is what it looks like, at this stage:

The cigarette lighter has been moved from the trim not shown which covered the wiper motor which will be spray painted satin black. It now sits at the upper left of the speedo.
I sawed off the original housing, to have it flush with the handle bar:

Here's what it looked like with the steering column trim already removed. The rest of the original images are on page two:

Here are the clutch plates which were in there. Figuratively speaking, they're toast. Well done, at that:

Detailed the engine in my son's '76 Skylark coupe this week. What started as a water pump replacement, ended up being a detail job. All new hoses, vacuum lines, valve cover gaskets. Painted brackets and pulleys. Painted the 260 Olds block Pontiac Blue, as the correct Olds Blue couldn't be had locally. The air cleaner is getting powder-coated. New decals on that, and it'll look great. Got the chrome job on there for the present time. 20180419_181312.jpg
