I got sideswiped by a dump truck

I use to do stupid stuff like that many years ago on my motorcycle, kicked a car, spit on and pulled over for a fight. Man I was a total IDIOT back then and much younger. Now I pull over if something really bad happens and I reset myself. I dont F@ck with the instigator anymore. I have way too much to lose with a young son. I also now gear up and have a bright yellow helmet and hi viz vest. Luckily I can ride during the week and you couldnt pay me to ride at night or on the weekends. I also ride out of the way twisty roads that dont have alot of traffic. The biker didnt deserve that but a car is always going to win in a collision with a motorcycle. Being young and stupid can get you into alot of trouble.

 

It would be best if all slower moving traffic would keep right. There's nothing more dangerous for a motorcyclist than overtaking from the right where he's moving past the left lane vehicle's blind spot

 

He was going about the same speed as I was. A car stopped in the middle of his lane to let someone out of a median turnout (someone got the tag number), and the truck driver tried to not ram them. He knew I was there, but thought (incorrectly) that I would move over for him. I did not realize what he was doing until it was too late.

That is just the bracket that holds the cladding on the door.

 

Since the truck driver didn't keep a required safe distance from the vehicle in front of him, that would be the main argument in your favor, as to determining fault

 

The truck driver got a ticket. The idiot who stopped still caused the accident. There should be a ticket for stupid driving.

 

In that case, there wouldn't be enough tickets to go around

 

Fred, I think you need to go into business representing people in similar positions. I thought your were crazy thinking you would get this resolved in a week. That guy that was building a Family Truckster replica took forever to get his resolved and the insurance company completely low-balled him. I think yours is the first instance I have heard of somebody actually getting what they wanted out of the deal and in less than six months.
