from oldest to newest First up a beautiful '49 ... I can only dream https://ventura.craigslist.org/cto/d/1949-mercury-woodie/6534456427.html A '65 Colony Park ... really like the rear facing 3rd row. Used in the Madman series. Wonder about the drip pan? https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/1965-mercury-colony-park/6543723439.html A factory v8 '79 Zephyr. 'been emailing the owner and it has cruise. I'll try to get some interior pics https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/1979-mercury-zephyr-wagon/6549697258.html This '82 has been posted on here earlier. The price has come down from the initial listing of $10k but still has a way to go to reach reality https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/1982-mercury-grand-marquis/6528515103.html Perhaps the best for last. A '91 w/ a CA smogged 5.0HO swap. Long time owned and reasonably priced. Gotta give this one a thumbs up https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/d/mercury-colony-park-station/6551207831.html
I forgot the budget one: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/cto/d/1989-mercury-station-wagon/6545872908.html
So.......... On that '91 Colony Park listed in the L.A. Craig's List, the owner replaced the standard 5.0 liter V-8 Ford engine with a 5.0 liter V-8 Ford engine from a 1993 Mustang GT. My question is - how big of a change is that? Let's see...... 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis Horsepower: 150 @ 3,200 rpm Torque: 270 ft-lbs @ 2,000 rpm Horsepower: 160 @ 3,400 rpm (w/ tow package) Torque: 280 ft-lbs @ 2,200 rpm (w/ tow package) 1993 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 liter V-8 Horsepower: 205 @4,200 Torque: 275 ft-lbs @ 3,000 rpm So yes, it makes more power, but you have to wind the engine out quite a bit to utilize that power. And there's negligible improvement in the torque figure. It remains to be seen whether this was a wise choice for an engine swap.
