Yikes! That is extensive! Even the entire air cleaner is 'rust' colored. I've had and worked on ones with rust, but this one takes the cake.

Just don't put candles on it and make a wish...

Or poke the candle into the cake. Beyond that, no further wishes are necessary.
The underhood rust is nothing. It's just common surface rust. Worrisome is that roof. That top has to get skinned pronto. What we might have here is a convertible about to happen soon. The front fender's replaceable, though. We all know that

I don't think that car spent its whole life in VA, If it did it spent a lot of time on or near the Beach!

Haha. Yeah, that’s what it call natural wear and tear from riding around with your shirt off. I love a Monte Carlo. So curvy!!!

Second generation Javelins are also curvy. Do you like those, also?

I’ve only seen pictures. They look a lot like a mustang right? Not a big fan. I had a 72’ mustang, scoop back. 351 Cleveland. One of the few cars I had no problem flipping. From the drivers seat it was hard to tell if I was in the mustang or the 72’ cougar this fella would bring to the shop from time to time.

What a shame, as this one has a good color/interior combo. I would dread taking that Landau cap off. I remember when I lived in PA, these things (and other GM coupes) would rot out in the same place. Doomed alot of otherwise nice cars....
