Just talked to him, the first thing he says is I wouldnt come take a look at it unless you are willing to pay the $6900 asking price because I have alot of interest in it. I said thats the West Haven car correct, he kind of stumbled and said yes. He still said $6900 so im not going out in the pouring rain to deal.with a guy I cant negotiate with. His number for those interested is 18605820406 35 stone crest drive , bristol ct

Oops sorry Mak, wrong thread. The 87 Chevy Caprice that was on sale in West Haven came back up for sale, very nice car that was $5000 OBO, then last night it was reposted here, its on ebay for $6900 still in CT. Thats the one I just posted about. The $1500 is a wait and see because the seller had thought I was someone else so when I got there he was confused. After I took it for a drive he said I thought you were someone who had been interested in the car and I was dealing with already. So the seller said he has to hear back from that guy first and I was fine with that because the seller was respectful, didnt give me an attitude, etc etc. The $6900 just rubbed me the wrong way when the first thing out of his mouth is Dont bother coming to see it UNLESS. He is flipping the car and if I liked it I would of paid a good chunk of change for it the next day in cash, no problemo. Hey I might of paid near asking price but would of negotiated hard but I dont need a station wagon and I dont need attitude on my birthday weekend. I am all about respect and I still have 2 deals open, one for the $1500 wagon and Marys wagon, she has been very apologetic, she said the price is negotiable and its a one owner wagon with all the paperwork and she has never once said TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT to me. She said possibly tuis week that the new tires will be put on it. This might not make sense to some but this is the way im wired. If it was a car I was dead set on then I would deal with this guys B.S. and play his game but knowing around how much he payed for it and the way he was on the phone ended it for me. I hope someone who will cherish it and take car of it gets it and not another flipper.

Update, went and looked at the Mary wagon on a lift yesterday morning. I was under the impression that she drove it during the Winter because when I left a note on her car over a year ago it was out in the Winter at a highschool my son wrestles at. She said it almost never went out in the snow and her son must of needed a car that night. When I saw the undercarriage I was really happy, not a lick of rust on the frame, I tapped all the floor pans and they were all solid. I looked up into the wheel wells and they were fine. It only had rust on a bar near the back of the bumper that seemed to be part of the tow package which it came equipped with. The mechanic checked the TV cable which was hard for me to see with limited space but there was a coter pin holding it on so it looked good but again it was hard to see. The front pads had alot of meat left on them. I went for a cruise and it felt almost as good as last year. I would add shocks to it in the next few years and possibly air bags if I were to tow a small camper. Exterior of car is nice, not beautiful but I dont want beautiful. I already have 2 garage queens and I need a daily driver for around town and sons crasy sports schedule. She wants to wash it, clean it up etc. I will then go to her house to go over interior and all the lights and electronics etc. I almost made an offer but my dad will be kicked out of his garage if I buy it so I can wait for awhile. She is not gonna list it and would like me to buy it. The front seats leather is chipped if you know what I mean. The rest of the interior seemed nice at a glance. She has the original, I shit you not front spare tire on now after getting a flat. It is 28 years old and her mechanic said its fine because it has no dry rot, WTF!!! Car has approximately 64,000 miles on it. The odometer stopped working last year February at 61,900 and she has a notebook with all her fill ups, amount of gas put in and dates. It is an around town car, she has a daily driver. She also has a stack of receipts from the car being serviced. The speedometer is working but the odometer doesnt. Anyone know how or what I need done to get that working. It also has a oil leak which is minimal for now. It is not coming from the head gasket. It is either coming from the pan or rear main seal so i will use that as leverage as well as interior front seat and odometer. The engine bay is clean, not gorgeous but good for a car this old. Its a 1990 Ford Crown Victoria LTD Country Squire.

Common issue for the odometer and trip odometer gears to dry, crack, and fail. It is not difficult to fix and the gears are readily available from the aftermarket. All you have to do is pull the instrument cluster and disassemble part of it to replace the gears.

This is written with an aero car as the model, but the process is nearly identical.

Thanks and it has a ton of pics in the instructions. If I get the car this will be a job to do when my son isnt around, he will become bored and I will become lost with all the steps and him saying lets go play instead Dad. He loves cars but not working on them lol.

I think some of you probably thought I would never own a wagon. WELL THE DEAL IS DONE!!! I am the proud owner of Marys wagon lol. It should be here this week but with another good snow storm coming Monday night throughout Tuesday I am hoping it gets here after that so I dont have to kick my dads car out of the garage. Once the check clears she will drive it to my house. One question is way in the back where the 2 pop up bench seats are, there is nothing covering the doors that open up to the bench seats. It has leather interior on the seats but I would think some sort of covering came with the car. She bought it like that 7 years ago. Pics to come and I will be doing some work to the car as it gets warmer out. My wife came with me and is happy about the purchase so LIFE IS GOOD. My son is excited to ride in it again also, not sure how cool he will think it is in a few years LMFAO. Thanks to everyone on this forum and I will definitely be asking more questions and needing your help.

Anyone know where to get owners manuals for station wagons, the seller never got one and doesnt have the rug for the back. I guess I will be hitting some junkyards once the weather warms up or make one out of some sort of carpeting. Ideas welcome.

Thanks MAK, she said she has a printed out manual for a lincoln wagon that was given to her since they both have the same chassis. I will wait to see what she actual gives me first before I decide if I even need it.

Car is home and I knew the power steering pump would have to replaced by the whining and leakage so I had her take money off for that and some other issues. To take off the power steering pump, do you need a special puller tool? Also when the car is at idle in drive the oil light flickers, if I do the steering wheel back and forth it also flickers. It has plenty of oil and power steering fluid. A loose wire? It doesnt smoke and runs strong, drove it 45 minutes home and when I pulled I to my driveway is when the power steering started to whine alot and the oil light was flickering. Put the car in drive and give it gas and the oil light disappears and doesnt come back until you stop and let it idle. My buddy is a mechanic but he was 10 when this car was built so he said to ask here and I have no idea either.
