Wagons in vintage Street scenes

From above - I'd sure like to know the location of this intersection. I'm pretty sure it's in the L.A. area - somewhere. I just can't place it without more information. That big earth slope in the background is (I'm positive) for a new freeway. Based on the cars seen, it looks like the pic was taken around 1958, give or take, which was prime time for building out the Los Angeles Freeway system. New ones were being opened all the time. In just a few short years, from around 1958 to 1963 or so, the San Diego Freeway went through near where I was living, as well as the continuation of the 10 freeway from downtown L.A., all the way to Santa Monica.
