Wagons in vintage Street scenes

GM getting maximum 'mileage' out of their styling studies...... 'hardtop' wagon on the right side, regular wagon on the left.


This '58 Pontiac styling study is the same way, except the photo is taken from the left side. You have to look close at what you see of the inner pillars on the right....

The 'hardtop' versions of both of these wagons of course, never got put into production. The last GM 4-door hardtop wagons were the '58 Buick Caballero and '58 Olds Fiesta. Both of those were bodies built by Ionia Body, not by GM.

 

Looked familiar but I could not put it together, good catch, KK. My sister-in-law had the colt below back in the 90's, but Blue top and stripes. It was mint, she drove the life out of it and it just kept going trouble free. Rear window was smashed one night along with other cars, she didn't have coverage. I'd replaced several windows in my time back in the 90's, that car's was the most difficult! I swear to this day the body was bent just a bit but can't prove it.

 

Good eyeballsmanship KK....... I never noticed it in the 59, just couldn't se it I guess.
