I live in TN. My daughter is 16 and loves Station Wagons. She has 1976 Ranchero she bought at 11! We have a 1977 Malibu Wagon I bought to fix up for her Kim
I have to admit that it surprises me when we get a young man that loves wagons. But, a young woman that loves wagons is very special indeed. She must have great parental influence.
Thanks for welcome.. My daughter wanted a Vista Cruiser and now really does after seeing this forum or one with woodgrain. I was going to fix up the one we have but I guess will not waste money to paint since that's not what she's wanting..sigh.. I listed it in the classifieds. I have no idea what a fair price is for it.. to get it sold. Can anyone help me? What other wagons with woodgrain are good? and would be good to increase in value for her? Thanks! Kim
In the Ford stable,Country Squires and Colony Parks are the wagons to get. There are some that are smaller---Fairmonts and Zephyrs, and even Pintos and Bobcats, but those are older and rarer.Harder to find...In the GM stable,I would suggest looking for the Oldsmobile,Buick and Pontiac woodie wagons. They too are rarer and harder to find, but a different kind of driver buys those than buys Chevies. Many Chevies get bought to be worked hard and get beat up.Oldsmobiles and Buicks usually got sold to more attentive and caring owners,as did the Mercuries...And Pontiacs went to owners like no others. Some are still good cars and others will be ones you need to inspect more closely before buying...Good luck with your shopping. And don't forget to post pictures.
What is a 1977 Malibu Classic Wagon worth? I listed our Wagon.. my daughter want's a Vista Cruiser.. What is a fair price to sell the 1977 Malibu Classic Wagon for? Pictures are in the classified section. I was typing $5k or best offer and somehow hit 6. That's probably too high? I tried to look at the one for $2500 in Phil but couldn't? Thanks Kim
boy, do I understand My 16 yo doesn't want my wagon. She's looking at rice burners. (hondas). And tho I don't really mind it would make me happy if she could be surrounded by the loving metal of my '88 Olds Custom Cruiser. That was how my dad taught me to drive safely...in an 1958 Dodge tank! Kids, what can you do? At least she does love wagons. from Utah.
Hondas? My wife loves, and I mean loves, our 79 Fairmont Squire, but she won't drive it because it's an automatic. Once I get our home renos done, she wants the mini-Fairmont, a 1985 Ford Escort Squire, with a 4 speed stick.
The grass is always greener (there is that color again ) on the other side of the fence..... Here the majority of the people would love to have automatic, but don"t, due to the lower price vs a stick
