http://www.wmur.com/article/frigid-start-to-the-holiday-weekend/14515780 I don't think it's been above ten degrees seance Christmas.
Yellerspirit Have endured those temps in the PAST - don't miss them 1 bit. Way down here in Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, it is a sweltering 14 degrees. You would get a kick out the folks down here, snows 3" and the world closes, 14 degrees and you'd think it's 47 below. Me, I went trap shooting today, had the range to myself - shot 4 rounds. Range owner asked if this was like Iowa - told him yeah, but my son and I used to do this all winter out there. Moved there from Connecticut - 1st year January 14 days 0 or below, lowest 23 below, July that year whole week over 95 - high hit 106 on the bank thermometer, have lived/worked in 11 states - never saw weather like the plains - winter to summer temp diff of 129 degrees - really
I am over 600 miles south of you and only 14 degrees warmer - just remember early frostbite kind of looks like a sunburn!
Seattle--where a day without sunshine is like 9 months of the year. And it only rains twice each year, January to June and July to December. But, I do have to admit, despite my father's death, I was so pleased we finally got a White Christmas in the Puget Sound area.
Not to bad -20 C (-4 F) and going down to -27 C ( -17 F) over night. I don't miss the -40 and colder temps back when I lived in northern Alberta.

I had to rescue the dog this morning. He went to pee and an icicle instantly froze between his pecker and a bush.
There's the option of Piddle Pads, just put one down inside the garage, have him business that instead of getting his junk 'Flicked.'
With windchill it was -14 this a.m. Me my son and my wife went sledding today, yesterday I took my son sledding and then we brought my son to an outdoor temporary ice rink in our town. The day before he went ice skating also. We go outside almost everyday. I grew up outside and he is going to also. He doesnt have a tablet or phone. I also have some bad injuries but one day I will be dead so this pain is temporary so why not push through it. It was very cold out though, 2 days in a row I got an almost instant headache from the cold. Happy New Year everyone.
It has been VERY cold for the past week or so, below the norm. But is becoming more seasonal this week. https://www.bing.com/search?q=weather+stewiacke&src=IE-SearchBox&FORM=IESR3A&pc=EUPP_UE02 Really glad I don't live near Mt Washington.
