No, it was the sheepskin one. Quick hijack: Joe, the Ranchero with the 'Razor' topper? The seller was not the member who had one. Okay, hijack over.
Yeah, that one. The Ranchero.us member had one, that he modified and painted the same shade of maroon as his rig.
One possibly troubling comment from the ad: What's the value of this comment if he doesn't tell us WHEN he brought the car home? Was it two weeks ago or 20 years ago? In any event, how about some photos of the car as it looks today? Is that too much trouble? The license plate on the front of the car in this photo was introduced in 1982 and discontinued in 1987. If this plate was current when the car was brought home, these photos could be 30-35 years old. But they're not because we have one more piece of evidence, and that's the license plate on the trailer on which the car is sitting. That's a California Permanent Trailer (says "California Perm Trailer" across the top) license plate, and California began issuing those in 2002, so the photo is no older than that. But the bottom line is, as I said at the top, how about some current photos???
Those are 1982 plates, possibly late late 1981, which makes sense if the car wasn't brand new when it was registered. You could still get the blues until 1984-ish depending on the DMV as stock had to be depleted first. That said, I think it is safe to assume the photos are recent as the truck isn't that old in the photo. It's a really nice looking car. I remember hunting these cars down when I was in high school as they were the last of the big boat 2-doors from Ford. And I don't think I ever saw one with gauges and a tach like this one.
