This is the current 2009 GMH line up of the wagons on offer. Same wagon but with cosmetic, specification and drive train variations. But there is some choice at least.

Aussies get spoiled like that? The R8 looks mean.

I agree with the R8, unfortunately I'm not going ahead with the purchase of that one. They offered too low a trade in on mine:(

I should have mentioned, that while alot of dealers are ready to negotiate prices I lost my ground on the R8 Tourer as these are only built to order and take between 6 to 8 weeks to be prepared by the GMH factory.:slap:

G'day GMWAGN. There was an R8 tourer at the Holden Dealer near Hamilton/Breakfast Creek that had some very minor hail damage. May have helped you shrink the gap somewhat. Where bouts in QLD are you?

Also kids, the entire Commodore range has also had significant V6 powerplant updates, with the inclusion of Direct Injection rather than port injection. All now come standard with 6 speed autos. Here's the news.
    Here's some techo stuff
I hope you don't mind me whoring my own articles. Wagonmaster, feel free to delete or whip as you see appropriate. :D

    Yes, they do.
I'd love a capacious Commodore wagon if I had a family, which would look a whole lot better that the VW Touran/ Ford S-Max MPV rubbish that family people have to drive here.
An example with the 6.2 litre V8 would do just nicely.

Sorry haven't been online in some time. Just couldn't find an R8 in the end the only ones available were demo vehicles.
I'm in the Far South just near the Gold Coast Hinterland. (Are you a SW member in Aus by chance?)

God damn I wish the GM brands would offer some of these here. I am sick and tired of seeing fugly crossovers and people driving big SUVs when they really need a big Rear-wheel drive wagon. Too bad the North American has fallen for the scam that if its is tall and has high-ride height it is "cool", but if is based simply based of a sedan (even performance one) somehow it is "uncool".

Even worse, Bluegrass Cruiser, I overheard my wife and her friend discussing how much safer big ass 4x4s and SUVs are! Lucky she's gorgeous.

Oh and GMWAGN, I've joined the cause :D

GMH (Australia) had retooled and set up shop producing these for export to the US rebadged as a Pontiac. Unfortunately with what has happened to GM they no longer require them, so the next model release down here will have alot of Pontiac features.?? But re-rebadged (?) to Holden/Commodores

That's the problem, the more gorgeous they are, the more outlandish they seem to get. Wait until she gets into her 50's! :taz:

Mine's been warming up, and I feel like a pin cushion sometimes.:rofl2:

    One of these days, Alice!!!:rofl2:

I have a co-wokrer who drives a 2008 Toyota RAV4 with a stability control system and has been designed to better withstand rollover crashes. She loves the damn thing (I personally thank those cars are ugly as sin). I can't but think but how unnecessary that would be if that model were simply a wagon. :disagree:

My daily driver is a 2008 maroon Taurus X, (it was called the Freestyle from '05 through '07). It's as close to a Ford wagon as I could find. I like it, but I gotta tell ya, every time I look at it, I'm thinking how much sharper it would be with some wood thrown on the sides of it!!
