In his text, the seller mentions a former owner, Jeff Frank, 'a collector', who lives in Tustin, CA. I believe this to be the same guy I have seen advertising wagons for sale from the 'Lemon Heights' area of OC (basically in Tustin...) Here's a link to another '68 Squire he was selling, with a pic of this red one in it as well..... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...country-squire-on-c-l-lemon-heights-ca.35345/ I believe we posted up the red one as well when Mr. Frank put it up for sale. Don't know why it didn't come up in a search.......
Both this red one and a pale green '68 CS had been listed on CL in Lemon Heights as recently as a year ago. If I remember correctly, the seller was asking around $15k for each. Looks like another flipper looking for a quick buck.
Someone's trying to maximize their profit. I think it went for $12k or so (maybe $15k?) when the guy in Orange County was selling it. I'd say that price is about right, and I don't think you can say that $20k is 'ridiculous'.............but $30k sure is.
AGREED on that. "Running with Scissors" was a really terrible movie, but it was one of Jill Clayburgh's last. One of her earliest, "Silver Streak," was a favorite of my childhood in the '70s.
