Killer frost last weekend, and cold rain for 2 more days, after the huge flood which still hasn't dried up.

BUT! Things are sort of turning around. Although I'll bet we'll all see price hikes in vegetable oil and all those neat McFries. Crops are looking bad, and we're cancelling our garden plans this year, like many folks are. Some have replanted 3 times already.

Anyway our grain and veggie farmers are hurting as are those south of us in North Dakota.

    You gotta be kidding' me.
Its so hot here that the tomatoes are practically dead. Spinach, chard, and lettuce won't even grow in this heat. The chickens have almost stopped laying.
Our stud male rabbit died from the 97(f) heat.
    I'm actually BUYING vegetables.
On the other hand, this is the time of year when HUGE fish come into shallow water in the saltwater rivers and at the beach to spawn.
Get up early, put your line out with fresh bait, slather on some sunscreen, sit on the lid of your cooler, and light a good cigar.
Moments later, you're either fighting a fish of some kind, or explaining to a bikini clad girl half your age that yes, I DO catch big fish here on the beach, and some of them are big, scary SHARKS!

    I love my little life.
    Stay warm, my Canadian friend.
When the revolution comes, I may need a place to stay for a while.....

It's amazing what people will do. 2 weeks ago we had floods down here and people think they can drive their cars through a metre of fast flowing water. Then everyone's out risking their lives to save them..
Well it happened this morning parts of Brisbane reached -2C, we managed 0.5C........it's freezing!!!:xmas:Actaully had frost/ice on the grass. (That's as close as we come to snow:D)
