You saw that one! Mind blowing!

Shortly after we saw thay here, the banks around the world were failing (US Bailout in October). Dubai lent money to the Big European banks ($750 billion USD$). And the Finance Minister from Canada, went to a conference in Dubai ($5,000 per night) to tell them how to make their European banks safer. Yeah, right.

:huh:The Canadian finance minister went to Dubai to talk about european banks? And the ministers' stay was a mere $5000 a night....yep?
One thing with politicians around the world, they all have their snouts well and truly deep in the trough:mad:

You realise that the 4 major Australian banks are the envy of the world. We pay them very well to be recession proof:slap: The leading bank here, National Australia Bank, has appropriately changed its name to NAB :biglaugh:

Finally the state motoring association (The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland) RACQ, has commenced a petiton to stop the Government from withdrawing the 8c per litre subsidy we were enjoying. Whether the gove listens to the people is another matter:(

What a RACQuet that must be! Why would they wan't fuel to go up if they represent auto owners?:banghead3:

Canada pays an annual room reservation bill for hotels around the world for our politicians and their "Entourage" of over $55 million per year. The security for our unbeloved Prime Minister is $30 million per year. A bit arrogant. Even our well-loved Pierre Trudeau drove to work in his flashy convertibles every day or whenever people wanted to insult him. Sure, we're not the safest place in the world, but nobody would waste a chunk of lead on this moron.

A few decades ago, some wise-a$$ cartoonist announced the winning government, NOT with a Photo-Op of the winners, but with a sketch of the Changing Of The Guard. On band of pigs will dollars hanging out of their pockets, strolling down from Parliament Hill, and the other new band of pigs, pockets hanging out of their pants, grinning and sticking their tongues out, climbing up the Hill. Lust in their eyes, and the Parliament was a pig trough with the necessary tower in the middle. :rofl2:

The guy won a media award for it, and was never allowed to press conferences, for some reason.:D

Very interesting about the diesel. Not so long ago we had all the chiefs' of the fuel companies trying to explain why diesel was so much dearer than petrol.......Lately diesel has dropped and is about 10cents per litre cheaper than 91octane (regular) unleaded????
They really do play us!! Now (91oct unleaded) the prices have shot up to 122.9 per litre again and holding longer. And then the subsidy is removed at the end of the month so it will again rise to 130.9 per litre????:mad:

Well they've got you on the rack now. If you want to offset the 8 cents, look at water injection. I've posted quite a few links for different types of fuel intake (Carburettor, Fuel injection, diesel engines) on the site. You'll save about 5 to 10% on fuel, gain some horsepower and a bit more torque. Plus you don't have to use alcohol in the mix like we do to keep it from freezing. It will be easier with your new project car and a lot less expensive. About $10 for a water container and some vacuum hose. Fuel injected cars need some expensive one-time equipment.

And,some of the gasoline procing is done locally,obviously...As I mentioned earlier, here in the LA area, the closer you are to the freeway; the higher the price on gasoline and the lower the price on diesel. The farther you get from the freeway(some exceptions are closeness to important places like shopping malls, colleges and industrial centers)the lower the price of gasoline, but diesel is higher...During the last week, prices in the LA area have been going up 5-6 cents a day. Some stations, even more...Then there's the dichotomy of the Name Brand stations and the bargain stations...At several intersections, nearby, the bargain stations will have all their gas for less than $3.00 a gallon---and the Name Brand stations will have NO GAS for less than $3.00 a gallon...If I'm having to choose between $2.79 a gallon and $3.09 a gallon, guess which gas I'm buying.;)

Usually, when this gain in price happens,a tanker has sunk,or a refinery has caught fire. This time,it's just for the Hell of it,apparently...Oh,and the American Senate approved that "clunker law" they'd been discussing...And the other day, after leaving a comment about how the car insurance industry changed how it treated cars that had over 400 hp---and they all disappeared,I figured out how they'l probably get our wagons off the road...Make it cost more money to insure them...

So, we have to get creative, eh? One 4 banger at 80 HP for the inspection, and a 500 HP setup, with a quick-change front end, for after the inspections.

I came across the following article thinking it was good news? The heading is Oil prices fall as US dollar strengthens. I've read through it a couple of times but I must be missing something but I'm sure the article contradicts itself in a few instances. Then again, I really don't understand this type of economics but you decide?

It's the typical Investor-Speak of any excuse to raise oil prices. If you watch Oil going up too fast, Gold futures will go up faster because Gold has more credibility for the big players. When oil is priced about right, gold values go down and stabilize. Canada makes the most expensive oil from tarsands. That's why that BMO consultant was included in the article. Bank of Montreal - Ogilvy traders.
