Well, it did not take long for you all to convert the Aussie:). I've been swept up with the passion you all have for old wagons.
I've had a rethink and I'm trying to get out of trading my current wagon in on the latest GMH R8 tourer sportwagon. I'm thinking of spending the money on buying and eventually restoring the old & rare local wagons.

It's seems I may have just secured my first project (just a small hurdle to overcome, but should be okay:hmmm: I hope). Time & distance, the car is located some 900km (600miles) away.
I've always been a GM man, ironically my first project is a Ford!!!
We'll here she is a 1965 XP Ford Falcon Super Pursuit Deluxe Station Wagon.

I hope I haven't jumped the gun, but what the heck, I'm excited about it!! If it falls through I'll just get out there and find something else for my first project. :)bowdown:She who must be obeyed says I should get a 65 Mustang as well?:16suspect1:)

The concern is that the seller is on hard times and needs to get it out of storage. So far he has agreed to hold it, but it depends on whether his mechanic will allow it be stored any longer? I'm trying to juggle time off & organise either a trailer or car transporter to ship it for me.

Well...it does need some work and some parts that maybe hard to find. But that's the fun of it. Steady at it and suddenly it looks like it came out of the show room! Rust should be looked at I would think. I don't like rust.

    Cool Falcon wagon!
Your '65 is based on the body we had for 1960 - 1963. Other than a different grill and headlights, the main difference is the placement of the taillamps. Here's what the back end of ours looked like:

I like what they did on the Aussie version - looks a lot like a smaller version of a '63 Galaxie.....

By the way, I learned to drive in a 1963 Ford Falcon Futura 4-door sedan.

Rust....I hate that stuff also, some times a "small" repair can become HUGE when you start. They don't call rust cancer for nuthin:disagree:.

I strongly recomend viewing the car, but thats just me;)

Thanks for that, even the early GMH versions seemed like scaled down models of their American counterparts.
Here's one I found similar to the drawing, Seems a nice neat unit.

    I agree, Fat.
Also agree with you, KK. That back end with those tails is spectacular!

Thanks for the info it will be needed. It's been I think around 25 years since I last rebuilt a car (with my brother) he was the mechanic & I did the bodywork. Unfortunately he's about 2000kms away:(.
I found a local place that seems to have just about everything as well...

    That is very cool.
    Go here, make friends:
    http://fordsix.com/forum/
You'll find a bunch of Aussie's who are ready to get their virtual hands dirty helping you out with a car like that. Nice find.
The pics aren't working for me though.
