I cannot remember the name of the gameshow, but they featured five wagons, all American makes, and the upshot is that if you won that episode, you took a key and went to the wagons to see if you could pick the one that would start. Anybody remember?
If Monte opens up Door #1 and the front end sheet metal is missing from the Safari I have a good idea of who did it.
That game show was "Split Second". As a car kid in that era I watched it religiously... well at least the end when they got to pick the keys!
After winning 5 episodes, he could have any 1975 Pontiac he wants. Does he go for the Grand Ville convertible? No, with all those kids he goes for the Grand LeMans Safari! (Poor guy is probably RIP now.)
Split Second! Why I cannot remember that name, I'll never know! And yeah, when I was home from school, sick, or in the Summer, when it rained here in Western Washington, I was watching it!
