    Evening all,

I have had a look on the Cali Bureau of Automotive site and tried entering the details of my car, purely for interest sake, but it doesn't have any records. I tried via license plate and VIN.

The car no longer lives in the US, does anyone know if they are removed them from the database once they leave the country? Or am I just not looking correctly? Or do they only hold the records for a short period of time? The license plates were last 'stickered' in 2014

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

The site says 1976 and newer vehicles require a check, maybe they do purge the older files from the database once the car no longer needs a check? My car, a 1992, was sold new in San Diego and stayed there until I bought it and the site shows all the tests back to 1997. I would guess they only hold the records for twenty years maybe?
