"Three-on-the-Tree Theft Deterrent Package?" What's that--taking the keys from the ignition?

It IS a anti theft devise, for the most part only us older f@rts know how to use them!

That is one sharp little Rambler IMO even with it's blemishes!

Jesus, I'm as thick as a whale omlette! The shifter's the anti-theft! Duh!! Since I'm one of those old farts that learned on this and a floor three-speed, it just fairly flew over my head!

*mournful trombone* Waaa waaa waaa waaa!

I'm one of the few who does recognize when I'm a fool. It's the ones who are so full of themselves that are the bane of the world.

Didn't even pull a bid. I like the three speed column shift with the console. Overall it looks like a nice car. That roof rust could be scary.

I think pretty soon any kind of column shift car will be a theft deterrent. Not many new cars with them anymore.

Sounds like it's time to make a YouTube video, perhaps with a bit of comedic content. Anyone in Snohomish, King or Skagit Counties, Washington, have a vehicle with a 3-on-the-tree?

Ko-inkidinkily I've been roaming CraigsList for a well used full sized van, supercab, or quadcab pickup truck with a decent length bed to move our junk 1000 miles, along with several trips pulling my 18' flat bed with a car on it.
Most pick up trucks come with tow hitch and ready. Some have a truck bed the size of a car trunk, some have 300,000 miles and are called low mileage.
I'm really looking for a decent $5000 or less GM full sized van. But I really want one with front seats only. Sort of a utility or bare box for storage. Most of these have been used hard and put away well worn. The rest are conversion vans with everything but a bathroom. I'd have to remove a sofa bed and extra bucket seats. Altho vans are becoming rare and not worth much as a trade in, they turn to gold when someone wants to buy it. Meaning a good full sized van is not easy to find and most don't have a hitch.
I found a few nice vans, mostly on the other side of the state. No trailer hitch. ???????????
I found the perfect pick up truck 65+ miles away. Low mileage, trailer package, even a nice topper and 8' bed. Sadly it's a 4-wheel drive with 5-speed floor shifter. Plus another short shifter for 4-wheel drive. Sadly my legs and knees aren't what they used to be so I decided not to look.
Yes a rare standard tranny decent pick up truck and I didn't buy it because it wasn't an automatic.
    I must be gettin old!

And apparently the truck just sold. Add gone. :grumpy:

That's why they're so high-priced--dunces with more money than common sense.

Well, I guess the Rambler isn't worth $6000.00, the opening bid. Not a bad looking car, to me.

Starting the bid at $6000 for a $5000 car might have something to do with it. Also the owner says the mileage may have turned over.
