That's a very similar mid 1970s vintage Gran Torino Squire.

What a shame... it is a very rare car. I cannot remember the last time I seen a '73 Montego Villager wagon for sale.

Being from that part of CA, despite surface rust, it should be a solid car if originally from the area. Not sure a $2500 car, but one worth saving I think.

Yeah looks like another behind it, or as mentioned a Gran Torino Squire.

Hope someone can save it. And, yes, that's a Torino Squire wagon of similar vintage behind it. Maybe someone can get a package deal.

There is a treasure trove of cars in the picture, a blue wagon rite beside the Merc that I'm suspecting to be a 64 Pontiac?, 71-73 Cougar, a blue 69/70 Cougar, 67-72 Chevy truck, a Falcon? rag top, and a 69 Cyclone.

Is there anyone in the area that might be able to check out any of these cars?

I'd try for the Villager, the Squire, and that GM truck!

You didn't mention the '68 XL fastback visible in the rear shot of the Montego.

I'm tempted to say that, from the shape of the surround rail on the fender, the Gran Torino Squire is a '72 -- probably the most desirable year

The interior of the Montego looks in remarkably good condition for being in a junkyard.

Maybe there's negotiation room in the price.
