A really well built car from just when Toyota began hitting its stride. Good price too. Need some pics.

    brother had one

My brother had a Cressida wagon, about the same year without the woodgrain. A nice car for surfing but he had a lot of mechanical problems. Mostly motor troubles, leaking head gaskets if I remember correctly. The cars problems put me off Japanese cars for years.

I'm guessing that your brothers wagon did not have the 22R engine?...Anybody know what would be under the hood? My Honey had 2, 22R's Carbureted and one 22RE with fuel injection in Celica GT's, those were pretty much bullet proof, those cars made me look at Japanize cars in completely different lite

I do not remember the engine, pretty sure it had a carb however. It was a lemon, always breaking down with motor problems. He sold it in California just after fixing it so it was running good. To its credit the car did make it from Virginia to California with no problems.

Not a crazy-high price, but the seller might have a bit more luck selling it if was running properly. I don't think he's going to have a crowd at his door offering to buy the car at $2,600. Even if it does look like Hilary in a dress. :D

The Cressida engine is the very same engine that was in the Supra. Six-cylinder, and carb'd in 1979.
