This is a beauty but way too expensive.

Very clean, but delusional on price.

It is a nice low mileage wagon - but the seller in not in touch with reality! To be honest they were not all that great when they were new. :hide:

I wrenched on a few of these when I was a tech at Pasadena AMC/Jeep from '87 until Chrysler took over. Once that happened they didn't want us working on any AMC or Renault products. The parts dept. threw everything away and the service dept. would turn customers away.

Aw, man, I sincerely hope you stopped the garbage dude and raided that truck he was driving to get those AMC parts.

One of the parts counter guys was a friend and we filled my Nova wagon with parts. That was in 1991, and they all got sold or used over the years.

I've heard similar stories about the parts getting tossed. A father of a guy I met, was an AMC tech in Virginia. He said they were adding on to the dealership and they dug a hole and buried all their AMC parts and then paved over them. He said his dad was sick about it since he owned several AMC's. They wouldn't even let him buy parts.

:pHave you stopped at your local Chrysler dealer to ask about new Jeeps lately? Son said he asked a saleman if they had a new Jeep to go off roading and mud bogging. Salesman said people don't use Jeeps to do that. These are luxury vehicles for driving around town!
I'm thinking he also said they are front wheel drive.

Back when I was working on them ('87-'92), first the Grand Wagoneer, then the Grand Cherokee, were highly popular with real estate agents. I imagine it's only gotten worse since then as far as the core demographic for these "image" vehicles. Just like so many people drive pick ups who never put anything in the bed.

That's another thing my 25 year old comments about. He drives a 1/2 ton camper special Chevy long bed that looks mostly original. He's got a 93 TBI and a 1-ton 5-speed. He pulls trailers with the bumper ball.
He said all the time guys with shiny new trucks tease him about his work truck. He just tells them "yea that's what it is." He told me most say they wouldn't haul anything in it because they don't want to scratch the bed.:slap:
The old neighbor guy has a fairly new Jeep. We do live on a gravel road but that's the most off roading he does.

Sometimes.:) We moved to Florida when he was almost five. Now he's a 99% redneck. He even talks and acts like one. But that's why we like it down here. He makes me laugh and he upsets me. I guess that's what kids do!
I sent him five hours ago to get some PVC glue and one lousy pipe cap. He's not back yet to fix a leaky faucet. Knowing him he went mud boggin!:banghead3:
