Thought some of you might laugh at this. No it's not an April Fools, there is actually a GM X-Car page. I didn't start it either, despite the fact that I still have, and love, my stupid Chevy Citation X-11. Over 1000 pics in the Photos era, including dealer brochures for every year and model FWD GM X-car from 1980-85. Ha! Almost 500 members too.

Not an April Fools. Though possibly should be. ;)

Thanks for posting this, it saves me the trouble of finding your Citation link!

I had to run out the other day, and I saw this on my way. I thought of you and stopped to snap a pic.

The Fiero was not an X-platform car. Some common parts, yes, but only remotely related.

What was common with the X platform?

The engines and transmissions for two, plus (maybe) some of the suspension bits (not sure about this part).

If I remember right, the entire front subframe of the X car was used in the back of the Field, minus the steering rack and with the wheels locked in place. The front subframe was lifted out of the Chevette minus the engine.
