    Suprisingly, I like the car color. DOn't like those green highlights on the dash.

    For under $5000 might be a nice cruiser. More Bondo and touch up would keep it cheap and fun. The brighter green on the dash pods can be repainted closer to body color or one of the pinstrip greens.

    I don't mind the car colour either. It's the missing door handles that would bug me.

    I know I'm an Old Fart, but how do you get into the car once it's closed without door handles? :huh: Leave the windows down all the time? :hmmm:

    I am an old Fart and I've removed the door handles from many cars. On my very first two I used tiny push buttons semi hidden in the windshield rubber along with those tornado shaped door handle inner springs to pop the door enough to get a hand inside to fully open it. Same with the trunk and rear doors.
    On my latest 1948 Chevy panel truck I have the same thing modern cars have, remote openers working small latches and electric solonoids using fancy door pushers to partially open the doors. Inside are more buttons to open the door along with a small mechanical emergency pull cable.
    just like a modern car. Ya ever watch the trunk go up in the parking lot of your favorite Mall? You gotta get out more often!:evilsmile:

    Sounds waaay too complicated for me, Cat! I like the big chrome handles with the button to push. ;)

    Handle this

    Believe me it's not that difficult. After all I can do it. Door handles are for houses and suit cases.
    I learned to use real lead on my 1949 Dodge filling in all the door handles, hood ornaments, and other useless things. Back then a 6-V VW starter solonoid pulled the door latch.
    Now days they buy a kit that uses Bear-claw latches with the remote solonoid built in and a simple car door remote like a garage door opener. It's so easy a carjacker can get in.:rofl2:
    Funny thing is the last two cars I replaced the handles and emblems with nice new shiny chrome ones. Mostly because all the hotrodders eliminate theirs and change the doors to suicide doors. So now original is different!:yup:

    $4,500 - $5,500 might be more reasonable. Depending on how much work someone is willing to take on. Or how badly they want a '64 Country Sedan.
