Hey boys, It's been almost 6 years to the day since my Custom Cruiser went to new home, no wagons since, until now. A '95 BMW 525it, "t" for touring what the Euros like to call a station wagon. Like so many of my cars it came home on a trailer. Put it together yesterday and it seems to run fine. Needs love in the cosmetic department but that will have to wait for warmer weather. Plans are to swap to manual transmission, parts for this are already in hand.
Hey Ross, nice to see you have a land yacht again. Nothing but generous, sir. Saving a rare orphan like that. I was a VP for a software company back in the 90s. My boss had a new Bentley, he got his sons a new Miata, and a Lamborgini, and his wife had a BMW wagon. She was the sparkler in that lion's den. She had a bumper sticker on the bumper that read, "When times are tough, the tough go shopping!" Nice road machine. Hope you don't mortgage your soul to make it pristine again.
Somewhat rare, especially in this color. None sold in the US with manual transmissions so it will be even a bit more unusual even though the swap is a popular alternative to an overhaul when the automatics fail. Gotta say I'd still take that kid's Lambo over this but they are very competent road cars, just not fast. I am VERY familiar with this chassis having owned many sedan versions and around 30 BMWs of similar vintage in total. Aside the touring specific parts replacements are abundant and cheap if you know where to shop. I can do all except body & paint so it shouldn't break me,.. tooo badly. Looking forward to putting the dogs in the "way back". Cheers, glad to see the rest of you old codgers are still kickin' too.
Welcome back with a wagon. Sounds like it will be a fun project. I've been here as much as possible trying to keep those old codgers in line! It's mostly a hopeless battle.
Whoa, that photo. I think it might help to rotate it 90 degrees! But to answer your question, yes I'm OK with a "Foreign Car" here.
Nice little wagon...I think. If I tilt my head to the left and scroll to the right slowly I can actually get my progressive bifocals to focus. back with or without a wagon.
